Harpreet A former International Athlete got arrested in a party drug

Delhi Police has arrested three Delhi men in a tip-off of Drug being smuggled from Africa via Mumbai. Among the three arrested accused one is Harpreet Singh an International Athlete who won the Silver medal in the discus throw in Common Wealth Game 2004 held in Australia. He again brought Bronze for India in 2006 SAF games. He was unable to participate in 2010 Common Wealth Game due to his injury. Nevertheless, he remained a continuous part in many national-level athletic championships unless he found positive in a dope test while going through one of those medical examinations prior to the competition. He is just 30. The other two accused were Amandeep Singh at 29 and Harnish Satpal at 36. All are West Delhi dwellers.

The drug caught was around 26 kg and a worth Rs. 50Cr  the International market price value. The drug found is called meow, a party drug. You can find out more on Sanjeev Yadav, DCP, Special Cell Delhi Police reportedly got a tip off that the consignment is being brought by Amandeep from Mumbai who had flown down a few days back there to get the drug from some international drug syndicate. Amandeep was expected to arrive by train in the Morning 6:15 am with the drug. The prepared Delhi police laid the foolproof plan to catch them in a trap without disturbing the public at New Delhi Railway Station where all the entry and exits were under surveillance. The two of them were spotted at the parking gate of State Entry Road. It was a good chase and both the accused Amandeep and Harpreet were arrested there with some catch and run moments. The third one was arrested after this nabbing scenario.

This was not the first incident of infamy for the international fame athlete. Earlier also, he was found guilty when found positive on using banned steroids. This made him debarred from the sports. He though tries his luck in Real estate business but his endeavor was not much of a success and got into this infamous practice of Drug dealing.
