The Nursing Team offers FREE OF CHARGE clinics providing advice and help in the following areas as well as advise on preventative healthcare.
Puppy and Kitten Care:
Whether you are a first-time owner or an experienced breeder with numerous pets, when you first welcome your new puppy or kitten into your household you might have questions and concerns regarding care, behaviour or feeding. This is particularly true in the first six months of your pets’ life when they are constantly growing, changing and learning about their life. Consequently, we offer free monthly nurse clinics where you will be able to weigh your pet to monitor their progress, get some help with worming and flea treatment and ask any questions you may have. This is an open discussion with a trained member of our veterinary staff and also helps establish us as a happy and friendly place for your pet, full of cuddles and treats!
‘Flab-fighting’ Weight Clinics:
This year produced a study showing that a shocking 53% of cats and 55% of dogs in the UK were overweight or obese. Those ‘few extra pounds’ can be detrimental to your pets’ health and we know that it is not easy to get the weight off once it is there. However, we also know that you want to keep your pet healthy and happy so our nurses will help you to help your pet become a ‘Flab Fighter’! This is not a ‘one size fits all’ program. Each patient is assessed as an individual and a personalised targeted plan is put together by the nurse. This will take into account the animals’ age, current and target weight, body condition, exercise habits, medical history and lifestyle. Once we have the programme up and running we are here to continue support throughout the process and combat any problems you might encounter. Once the weight is off we will also devise a maintenance programme to keep your happy, fit pet staying that way.
Lively Longevity Clinics For Over 7’s
Our pets can experience age-related changes from as early as 7 years old. Sometimes these changes can be very subtle. As prevention is always better than cure, the Nursing Team would like to help you detect any age-related problems early on and then work with you to delay the onset of age-related diseases, maintain good health and an excellent quality of life for your pet.
Consequently, we are offering a 5-point health check for your pet, which includes the following:
• A comprehensive nose to tail health check
• Dental check and discussion of dental care
• Discuss diet and any changes in your pets feeding habits and gastrointestinal tolerance
• Discuss any behavioural changes and possible causes
• Discuss any changes in your animals exercise routine or possible mobility issues.
Our Lively Longevity Clinics will help ease your pet into the next stage of their life and keep them as young as possible for as long as possible.
This is not a substitute for your normal annual check up or veterinary surgeons consultations but an additional service that the Nursing Team now offer, appreciating that at certain times in your pets life you need a bit of extra assistance.
The Nursing Team are here to support you and your pet, so come and see us!
